A Message from the CDEA President

CDEA has a long-standing reputation for promoting quality care in Christian Early Childhood Education (ECE) organizations. This tradition informs our purpose and captures our hearts on a daily basis. We realize that we honor the Lord when we operate at the highest level of excellence; and historically, we have provided training, credentialing, and support services to improve the delivery of service excellence in Christian ECE programs.

This coming year, 2019, will be a transformation year for CDEA. We are narrowing our focus to building an association completely dedicated to increasing the number of organizations and individuals we reach in our efforts to continually raise the level of professionalism and quality of Christian education and care.

We realize, with increasing conviction, the important role we each play in the lives of young children in the most formative years of their lives. You are the educators we seek to support in order that you may educate and care for children with greater confidence and competence than ever before.

Your membership in CDEA affirms that you are devoted to quality Christian Early Childhood Education and Care. We deeply appreciate you and your support as a professional member of the Christian Development Education Alliance.
As your new president, I have been seeking God’s wisdom for working with our Board of Directors and for those whose boots are on the ground. We desire to forge a path for our association to become a greater blessing to not only our members in Florida but also to organizations nationwide that have dedicated themselves to Christian ECE.

I am asking that, as you agree with us, to pray with us for Christian ECE organizations, their Leadership Teams, Teachers, and Staff to deliver greater quality in service and deeper compassion in caring and to exhibit the highest level of ECE expertise so that we honor the Lord in all the work we do on behalf of the children entrusted to our care. In addition, pray for greater involvement in CDEA and its growth so that our outreach may continue to grow.

We ask not only for your prayers but for your support by attending our annual conference in February 2019. Ignite your Passion is the conference theme. Passion comes from experiencing joy in what you do, and joy is our strength. You do not want to miss this extraordinary opportunity to experience joy and all the strength and passion it yields.

We have scheduled fresh and exciting events for you with an infant and toddler track, a preschool track, and an administration/leadership track from which you can choose. We have specifically chosen these tracks and purposefully recruited these presenters to meet your training needs!

On Friday night, we have added a new kick-off dinner with keynote speaker Mecca Johnson, the founder of My Joy Speaks (www.myjoyspeaks.com). On Saturday during the lunch session, Dr. Phyllis Kalifeh will be our guest keynote speaker. She will share with us the status of ECE in Florida.
We have lowered the cost to accommodate as many of your team members as possible and have added a preconference for additional CEU units. Please visit our website to register today! www.cdeallaince.org
As we have lowered the conference cost to accommodate every budget, I am personally asking you to make our conference a priority; it going to be an exciting, informative, inspirational event for those who attend this historic conference.

Mark 10:14 tells us that Jesus embraced the children and invoked a fervent blessing on them. My prayer is that we will be a blessing to you, and you will be a blessing to the children, their families, and the communities we serve in the name of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

With my love and respect,

Donna Thornton Roberts, CDEA President
